What Drives Volume in This City

Three things generate most of our Great Falls work, and they run on different clocks.

Detached-garage accumulation is the steady one. A great deal of the housing here was built between 1950 and 1975 with a separate garage out back, and that building is where things go when they stop being used. It fills gradually over decades and then empties all at once - when the house sells, when somebody's knees give out, or when an adult child arrives with a week of leave and a decision to make.

Malmstrom is the seasonal one. Air Force households rotate on orders, and a PCS move has a fixed date. Whatever will not fit in the shipment has to be gone inside a week, usually including furniture bought locally and not worth moving across the country. Those weeks in early summer are among our busiest and they are entirely predictable.

Wind is the unpredictable one. A serious chinook off the Front puts cottonwood limbs across yards citywide in a single night, and the following week every hauler and arborist in Cascade County is booked. Calling on the first day rather than the third is the whole difference.

Common Questions

Do you charge more for some parts of town?

No. One price across the whole city. The landfill is close enough to everywhere in Great Falls that zone pricing would be inventing a cost that does not exist.

Can you come today?

Often, inside city limits. Estate and hoarding jobs get scheduled properly rather than squeezed in, but a couch or a garage load can frequently happen the same day.

Do you work on base?

We can collect from housing on and around Malmstrom, though base access has its own procedure and you will need to arrange it. Give us extra notice for those.
